This is a subset of the PADI Open Water Diver course takes 2 days instead of the 4 day full course and it includes:

What to expect?

Step 1: Complete Your PADI eLearning

Once you book, we'll assign your PADI eLearning and send you a short video showing how to redeem your unique code. You can study on the PADI app on your phone, tablet or laptop, at your own pace. Most of our students finish in 4 to 6 hours. Our team will guide you on which sections to complete so you're ready to start your water training as soon as possible.

Step 2: Master the Skills in Our DiveTank

Day 1 you'll complete 3 confined water dives in the region's largest indoor DiveTank. At 4 metres deep, it's where you'll practise equalising, mask clearing, buoyancy control and the other key diving and safety skills, until they feel like second nature.

Step 3: Take Your Skills Into Open Water

On Day 2, you'll complete 2 open water dives, either as shore dives in Dubai or boat dives in Khorfakkan whichever is most convenient to you. You'll show your instructor the skills you mastered in the DiveTank in real ocean conditions, explore the underwater world and learn to plan your own dives like a certified diver.

Graduation: Congratulations, You're now a PADI Scuba Diver

Once you've completed all required 5 dives, your Instructor will debrief you, review any theory you'd like to go over and present your DiveCampus wall certificate. Your PADI eCard is usually processed within 24 to 48 hours.

What should I carry?

Just lots of excitement and for hygiene reasons your swimwear and towel. We take care of the rest. :)

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

For a PADI Scuba Diver course you need to demonstrate comfort in water by swim/float for 10-minutes. If you're not quite there yet, DiveCampus also offers swimming lessons to help you get ready.

Do I need do a medical check-up?

Every student completes the PADI medical questionnaire before training. Please review the Diver Medical form , if answer to any of the question is yes, you'll need a doctor's sign-and stamp this form before getting in the water.

Can I dive if I have glasses/contact lens?

Absolutely! Prescription lenses can be fitted to a dive mask. Most contact lenses can also be worn while diving. However, water magnifies your vision. Because of refraction, objects appear one-third larger and closer underwater. This means that if you are slightly nearsighted or only have very minor vision impairment, you may not need to wear contacts or a prescription scuba mask to dive.

What if I have trouble equalising my ears?

Equalising is a skill you can learn, and our instructors teach it every day. Training depth makes a real difference here. Your first 5 confined water sessions take place in our 4-metre-deep indoor DiveTank, while many standard pools used for training are only 1.5 to 2 metres deep. That extra depth gives you plenty of equalisation practice before you reach the ocean, so it feels far more natural on your open water dives. If the standard technique doesn't work for you, your instructor will slow your descent and show you alternate methods.

Does this license have an expiration?

No, your PADI Open Water Diver license is valid for life. However, if you haven't dived for six months or more, we recommend a refresher session before your next dive.
