Becoming a PADI Tec 50 Instructor enables you to develop advanced technical divers ready to extend their range and safely participate in a wide variety of tec explorations.

As a Tec 50 Instructor, you’ll be qualified to:

• Conduct PADI Discover Tec programs
• Teach PADI Tec Basics
• Teach PADI Tec 40 Diver
• Teach PADI Tec 45 Diver
• Teach PADI Tec 50 Diver

You can also advance to a PADI Tec 50 Trimix Instructor, teaching trimix diving and advanced gas planning to prepare divers for extreme-depth exploration.

Islam Etman brings over a decade of professional diving experience and a teaching approach that balances technical precision, calm guidance, and deep understanding of diver psychology.

A PADI Master Instructor, PADI Freedive Instructor, and PADI TecRec Instructor Trainer, Islam is certified to teach a wide range of PADI specialties — including Full Face Mask, Self-Reliant, Tec Sidemount, Dive Propulsion Vehicle (DPV), Dry Suit, and Trimix Diving.

His training emphasizes:

Entry Requirements

To enroll in the Tec 50 Instructor course, you must hold:

• PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (or higher)
• PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty Instructor
• PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor
• Tec 50 Diver certification
• Minimum 25 EANx dives deeper than 30 m / 100 ft
• Minimum 10 decompression dives with full technical equipment

Before submitting your application, you must also have:

• Certified at least 25 divers (no more than five from courses without dives or PADI Seal Team programs)
• Logged 250 dives, including 25 decompression dives deeper than 40 m / 130 ft
• Completed a PADI Tec 50 Instructor course or qualifying equivalent, and one of the following:
• Assisted with two Tec 50 Diver courses, or
  • Assisted with one Tec 45 Diver and one Tec 50 Diver course, or
  • Hold Tec 40 or Tec 45 Instructor rating and have assisted or taught required qualifying courses
• Successfully complete the Tec 50 Instructor Exam within 12 months

Tec 50 Trimix Instructor Option

Advance further by becoming a PADI Tec 50 Trimix Instructor, extending your scope to helium-based diving and complex gas management for extreme-depth exploration.

Prerequisites:

• Complete all Tec 50 Instructor requirements
• Tec 50 Trimix Diver (or higher) certification
• Minimum 10 trimix dives
• Successful completion of the Tec Diver Trimix Instructor Course and Exam

Teaching status:
PADI Tec 50 Trimix Instructors are authorized to teach:

• Discover Tec
• PADI Tec Basics
• Tec 40 & Tec 40 Trimix Diver
• Tec 45 & Tec 45 Trimix Diver
• Tec 50 & Tec 50 Trimix Diver

What's not included:

• Nitrox, O2 & Trimix Fills
• Redundancy Equipments/Accessories
• PADI Fees (payable directly to PADI)

Equipment Requirement:

We provide the standard set up as part of the course - So Backplate-Doubles/Sidemount BCD, Twin Regulators, Stage Regulators, Wetsuit, Mask, Tanks, Weights are included in the course price. 

Note however Accessories/Equipments for redundancy are not included and can be rented or purchased during the course - you need: 2 x mask, 2 x cutting tool, 1 orange and 1 yellow SMB, 1 wet note OR 1 arm slate, 2 x Dive Computer, 1 x Lift Bag, 60m Spool.

To store all of this equipment you will need your own Tec Shorts, these are not available on rent and need to be purchased.
